The Norval Foundation, Cape Town
Article in the latest Architect and Builder Magazine, featuring a project of ours that opened to the public on 28 April 2018.
Envisioned as a modern pavilion for art, the Norval Foundation overlooks an indigenous landscaped garden that integrates a rehabilitated wetland, sculpture park, amphitheater and picnic site with incredible lighting and high level building energy management system.

An office conversion into residential apartments meets the growing demand for accommodation in the CBD.
dhk architects has unveiled proposals for an elegant new office development, 35 Lower Long, situated in Cape Town’s growing Foreshore precinct.
Designed for land owner Ellerine Brothers and developers Abland, the new tower replaces a lower building designed in the late eighties.
As one of the first of a cluster of taller buildings envisaged in a presently underdeveloped area that is rapidly emerging as Cape Town’s financial centre, the design of the building not only provides world class office space but aims to invigorate this part of the city, both on street level and within the greater city scape.
The sculptural building is characterised by dynamic glazed facades which extend seamlessly over the office and parking levels. New retail spaces animate the entire length of the street frontage, which sits on a busy pedestrian route across the city, breathing new life into the area. The wing-like glazing on the street-facing facades soars upwards past the chamfered corners of the building, creating a dynamic addition to the street and skyline.
The building will provide 13,470m˛ of premium office space and 334m 2 of retail, and will be completed early 2020.

We as a company have a long-standing relationship with Ncedolwethu Edu-care Center and delivered 42 Santa Shoe Boxes for the children that the staff put together.
We had an incredibly humbling morning watching the children open their gifts. After much excitement, the children sang a few songs and Lizo said a few words.
We were extremely honored and privileged to have been able to spend the morning with these beautiful children.
Ncedolwethu Edu-care Center was established in 1994 by Florence
Dodovu and is located in Mfuleni (near Blue Downs) in the Western Cape, South
Africa. Florence currently has 9 children living with her that have been
She also runs an Edu-care Center for approximately 35 children from the neighbourhood (from 7 am to 5 pm from Mondays to Fridays). Many of the children rely on the Center for their only meal of the day.
In addition, at least 15 additional older children who are at primary school in the morning attend the Center in the afternoons, again many of whom rely on the Center for their only daily meal. http://www.ncedolwethu.org/

The day of our 2016 'surprise' Team Build had finally arrived.
The two teams were rearing to go, with much excitement and a good dose of competitive rivalry.
The Amazing Race saw the 'Red Hot Chili Peppers' and the 'Killer Watts' desperately navigating themselves around Cape Town in mini buses, deciphering clues and tackling the many obstacles and challenges with spirit along the way.
It was a great day out with loads of laughter and a great team spirit.
A big thank you to Team Alliance, www.teambuildalliance.co.za for assisting us in organising such a successful and fun filled day.

We recently had the privilege of assisting Lawrence House Youth Centre with the provision of job shadow opportunities for two of their scholars – Tommi and Bertin. Tommi and Bertin were introduced to draughting and building services, went along to sites, and even sat in on a couple of meetings. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the guys, and sharing our knowledge, expertise, and valued life skills with them. We are proud to support Lawrence House, and the wonderful work that they do.
The staff of Converge Consulting enjoyed some time out of the office for a day of Team Building. We spent the day doing a Corporate Culture workshop, a paired wine tasting, went clay pigeon shooting, followed by a delicious dinner. The team building was an excellent opportunity to improve our communication, productivity, and morale. Thank you to Slaley Stellenbosch for doing such a tremendous job of hosting our event.
We celebrated this Madiba Day by collecting blankets for the children at Lawrence House. A Child and Youth Care Centre that provides a special place of safety and care for abandoned and orphaned refugee children and unaccompanied foreign minors. We know the blankets will add a little warmth and colour in the cold winter weather. Thank you to the Lawrence House Team for all the great work they do.
